Minneapolis has large parks and green areas that seamlessly integrate into the urban environment and offer various cultural attractions to visit alongside natural areas.
Minneapolis is known as the "land of the lakes". It would be best to go south, Nokomis lake and Hiawatha lake for water sports and walks. For aquatic sports such as kayaking, paddle-boating, sailing & diving you can go to one of the 13 major lakes on the city limits. Try the Calhoun Lake for beaches with views of the Ski River or the Harriet lake for concertsand festivals. In the winter, cold weather sports, such as ice fishing, cross country skiing, and naturally ice hockey, also thrill the lakes.
Minneapolis is home to many green parks, which provide an unparalleled view of several historic areas of the city on a hot summer day. Lyndale Park Peace and Rose Garden, influenced by Japan, is a preferred location for local residents as well as tourists and home to the second-oldest rose garden in America's Gold Medal Park. Thanks to its sculptures and an elevated, viewing knoll, Minneapolis's antique signage, new architecture, and artificial charms are among the best places to see.
This Minnesota center produces a wide range of artisanal beer. You can visit the many cherished nearby breweries and the Mississippi River's downtown beer pubs. Some of Northeast Minneapolis' top beer makers are Bauhaus Brew Labs, Dangerous Man Brewing and more. All this is but a small selection of breweries that this little town has to sell.
The Fair, one of the biggest national fairs globally, celebrates Minnesota's agricultural heritage with livestock and cooking contests, concerts, and rides in the amusement park. The striking feature is you should surely try the food, one of the less obvious choices. The fairgrounds are in St. Paul, connected with a bus line from Minneapolis and St. Paul, as well as parking.
A huge selection of works from many countries and several different styles, including European master images, is available at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The collection consists of works dating back to 5000 years from several cultures. Sculptures, images, paintings, sketches, textiles, and prints will be shown. Admission is free, and public tours are free, and this cultural resort is an excellent choice for all ages with a Family Center on-site.
The city center theater is one of the most famous and cherished treasures in the city. With its critically admired balance of classical and avant-garde development, the Guthrie Theater's repertory company has made its mark. The theater now features a fully functional lounge, two casual restaurants, and some of Minneapolis's finest views from the Mississippi River, alongside its three performance areas.
A cultural gem of the campus and community is the Weisman Art Museum in Minnesota University. The design is a four-story, eye-catcher, hard to describe stainless steel structure. The museum's collection's main subject is American Modernism, Korean traditional furnishings, and old pottery from the Southwest of America. A wide selection of art can be seen around the university on the Museum Campus. Both exhibits and the general entry to the building are free.
The Stone Arch Bridge is a 2,100-foot granite and limestone bridge and is a must-see. You can stroll and ride bikes across this bridge, or you could also visit the stunning views of downtown Minneapolis from the bridge. The Guthrie Theater and Mill City Museum are located across the Mississippi River and house a number of restaurants, including Aster Cafe, a favorite in the neighborhood.
Minneapolis-St. Paul is perfect for visiting from the month of June to August. Summer marks the peak season of tourism and enjoys huge numbers of festivals and farmer markets.
